Album Notes
***Featured on the 46th GRAMMY® Awards List; BEST POP VOCAL ALBUM***

MONTY GUY...Born in Guyana, South America.

Formed his first band in LONDON at age 13.

Based in the U.S.A.

Enjoys James Brown, Grover Washington, Jr., Duke Ellington, Beatles, Motown, Count Basie, Miles Davis, Stevie Wonder, Luis Miguel, Nat'King'Cole, Sam Cooke, Johnny Mathis, Ennio Morricone, Henry Mancini, Lalo Schifrin, Wynton Marsalis, Sinatra, Gilberto Santa Rosa, and "doo-wop" classics.

Earlier albums are "LOVE JAMBOREE" featuring the swing reggae song "Pain Of Love", "IN THE BLACK" featuring the BILLBOARD approved "Time And Passion", the R&B tinged "My Heart's One Desire", the swing reggae "I'll Always Love You", and the uptempo "Love Me Tonight" which was a popular radio add in mid-south USA.

MONTY followed up with his next album "OPUS GROOVE 2000" in 1988.

The song "Hanging Tough" charted in the mid-west USA, while the two instrumental Big Band arranged songs "Blue Nite Swing" and "Melody With A Swing" showed artistic depth, musical creativity and love for different styles of song.

All of MONTY's albums feature original compositions, while introducing energetic, yet mature, musicianship.

The new album "FROZEN FIRE" shows growth, enhanced production quality, and strengthening talent; with a vocal clarity that suggests dedication to craftsmanship. It was awarded a place on the 46th GRAMMY® Awards Entry List in the BEST POP VOCAL ALBUM Category at #60.

The orchestral arrangements are obvious in "To Fall In Love", the instrumental "Majestic Blue", the reggae-ish "Symphony Of Love", the exciting "Can't Recover", and the very interesting "Senorita Bonita".

Critics overall comment "fresh and original...has talent".

UPDATE! SOON TO BE RELEASED !!! It's a twelve (12) tracks album which includes six instrumentals ("Ethereal Kiss" is a good one);and the ballad "Your Love Saved Me Tonight" is a smooth, wonderfully arranged composition that enjoys a credible and sincere vocal delivery; while the song "My Lover & Friend" is a sweet, jazzy, moderate tempo gem. Monty Guy's inner ear is unlike any other
A guy, his keyboard, and his enthusiasm make this cd worth a listen. Monty Guy's sound is unique. On Frozen Fire he heeds his own peculiar melodic muse while examining themes of romantic love. Bravo Monty for living the dream and disregarding conventional expectations. Musically, self-reliant, Monty Guy applies Emerson's exhortation to his art and creates a lovably homegrown sound.
