ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The story of Moonshine!
Down by the levy, where you can still hear the “Mississippi Delta Blues” screaming through the black water swamps, there’s a band named Moonshine. Southern Rock Blues is the music they play and they’ve burned many a mile on the “Devils Road.” The long endless nights spent in dank motels and biker bars with only the comfort of “Warm Beer and Catfish Stew”.

Of this six-member band of wandering brothers, not one can be called a “Fortunate Son”.
And many a times they’ve played their “Last Song” in a hot tin-roofed juke-joint to a sweat soaked packed house. The crowd dancing and drinking a secret recipe of their very own corn whisky that some call “Mamas Kitchen Brew”.

It’s “Southern Blood” that runs deep through the veins of these boys, and when they rip through one of their songs like ”Turn Me Around”, the blistering bottle-neck slide guitar, hellcat harmonica, piano, drums, bass and firey vocals all come together in a electrifying and powerhouse sound of hi-octane fervor and colorful story telling.

The blues has not, and will not ever “Fade Away” if this band has its say.
So punch your ticket and take ride on “The American Train” and groove to the music of the band “Moonshine”.

Derek Davis- Vocals
Buzzy James - Slide guitar, Background Vocals

Bitchin Album
This is superb, this is whiskey drinkin soaked southern rock with a hard rocking edge. Catfish Stew, Fortunate Son (cover), just awesome. The slide guitar playing is outstanding, the vocals just rocking. I listen to Redneck Radio and to be honest there are many hard rocking southern bands out there but they lack the hooks, fills, riffs and catchiness of this collection of songs. Gonna play it to death in my wheels. Buy it if you love hard rock, Buy it if you love southern rock…..buy it anyway !!!!!

Good blues hard rocking album
This is a good blues influenced hard rocking records. Fans of Tesla, Tangier, Cinderella, Lynyrd Skynrd, Molly Hatchet or Blackfoot will certainly find a lot to like about this band and its music. Although played and sung skillfully, and with honesty and enthusiasm, the songs for me lack of originality. Still, this is a really enjoyable CD. There is no discussion about the quality of the musicians and the songs. It is up to one's taste to find the music amazing or good or generic. I personally find it good but it has this "heard it all before" touch to it.
