ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The Singer/Songwriter Morrison, knew at a early age that he wanted to be a musician. He started playing music at age 5, starting with the piano, then drums, and then onto singing, writing, and playing guitar in his teens. Originally from Chicago he moved to the L.A. area knowing that was where he had to be to start his professional career in the music industry. He had immediate success playing local shows on the Sunset Strip and around Southern California performing at world famous clubs like the House of Blues, The Whiskey a Go Go, The Roxy, The Troubador, and The Coach House, which opened the doors for him to start getting gigs opening for national and international artists such as Slash and Duff McKagan (Guns n Roses), L.A. Guns, Spencer Davis, The Bullet Boys, Tesla, Warrant, Bang Tango, Tommy Tutone, and many more. He was nominated “Best Orange County Artist” by the Los Angeles Music Awards and the Rock City News. He was also named “Best Unsigned Artist” by Music Connection Magazine.
In 2004 Morrison’s career took an unexpected turn, having learned Spanish and traveling many times to Mexico he had discovered Rock in Espanol. For some years his Spanish speaking friends had always told him to sing a few songs in Spanish and that’s what he finally did. He recorded a 3 song demo and had passed it around at the LAMC (Latin Alternative Music Conference) in Beverly Hills. A few months later his song “Nunca” was charting in New York City and in many other Spanish Pop/Rock stations around the U.S. It eventually hit #1 in NYC and stayed there for 6 weeks pushing him to chart nationally at #10. (Radio & Records). All three songs charted in the top 20, so he went back into the studio and did a full length CD in spanish titled, “Nunca” with producer, Mauricio Guerrero, who won Grammys for his work with Shakira, Gloria Estefan, Luis Miguel, La Ley, Phil Collins, etc… He filmed the video for “Nunca” with Director, Robert Pfitzner, from Germany. It showcased Morrison with Playboy’s “Ms. Latina”, and Venezuelan actress, Alejandra Gutierrez. It aired internationally on Mtv3, VH1espanol, Telehit, and many other latin video channels worldwide. He was asked to join the Jack Daniels Rock en Espanol Tour and from there he started touring throughout the U.S., which led to more tours in Mexico and Central America where he opened shows for artists such as Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, Beto Cuevas, Cristian Castro, Jaguares, Julieta Venegas, Reik, Jumbo, Reyli, Calle 13, Moderato, Mikel Erentxun, Belinda, Yuridia, Los Amantes de Lola, Graciela Beltran, and Alejandro Lerner, etc…... Morrison won an Award for “Best Male Vocallist” for the Calabozo Radio Awards in Los Angeles. He also does a lot of work for the community and many charities. He filmed commercials and performed benefit concerts for the City of Hope along with other famous Hispanic actors and artists such as Jennifer Pena, Cristian Castro, Mercedes Castro, Omar Fiero, y Graciela Beltran. He also does concerts for Rock Para Los Ninos (Rock for the Children) in Guadalajara, and has also performed for the Telethons in Guatemala and El Salvador.
This past year Morrison has returned in full strength, being published in the new book, “Valley Blvd. Cruisin’ Rock to Alternativo, The Padrino Tales”. He has also started producing other artists such as Ecuadorian singer songwriter, Octavio Red, and his new CD, “Lejos de Ti”, as well as songs Morrison wrote, like the new American Anthem, “Living in America”, performed by Clydene Jackson, and a Norteno version of his song, “Soy Yo” (I Am). Currently Morrison has just finished 2 new CDs. One in Spanish and one in English, which he recorded and produced with Producer/Engineer, Keith Taylor, who is known for his work with such greats as Frank Sinatra, Johnny Cash, David Bowie, Bruce Springssteen, The Who, Pink Floyd, to name a few…. In 2014 Morrison will be promoting and touring to support both CDs. For more information - See more at: http://www.tommorrison.com
