Album Notes
"Miles Away - A Journey Through Life" is the 13th official studio recorded release from 2 time Billboard Music Award Winner, and Memphis IBC semi-finalist, MOTU (Dr Richard Michelson). It is an electric-acoustic rock/roots music journey through life that touches on social and economic themes while asking the deeper questions of the universe. The CD has a line up of some outstanding Long Island-NY musicians; many of whom have performed with very well known artists such as Bo Diddley, James Cotton, Johnny Winter, Watermelon Slim, the Allman Brothers, Dickey Betts, Taylor Dayne, and Cindi Lauper (just to name a few) making the list of performing musicians on this CD yet another representation of some of NY’s best "home grown" talent!

Ken Michelson

The BEST MOTU Recording So Far!
Having heard all of MOTU's stuff since the earliest days I can confidently say that this is, without a doubt, the best recording he's done so far! The entire album is a cohesive work and tells a very sweet, delicate and poignant story of life, love and loss. Like much of MOTU's stuff, it's hard to classify as simply "the blues." The addition of covers by Fleetwood Mac (Bleed To Love Her) and the fantastic Grateful Dead number, Stella Blue (which ends this album), are just examples of how MOTU has blended his own excellent work with the perfect songs of other artists to tell this story. The prominence of Dee Chetta's vocals and Lora Kendall's violin are what help make this album so sad and beautiful at the same time. The rest of the artists (Tommy Keys, Mark Loebl, Ed Modzel, George Gashonia and Adam Tese) all bring their "A" game to this album.

I highly recommend this CD. I expect to be listening to Miles Away many many more times!!
