The first single from Hiss 3 - Hysterectomy is anchored by a dope line borrowed from diggity Das-EFX and a funky, 420-friendly baseline, both perfectly suited for Touch to brag about his impressive weed intake. The “Smiggity Smoke” maxi-single/DJ Pack includes three remixes that take the vibe further afield, each also featuring a third verse otherwise exclusive to the extended version off the 7” from Black Buffalo Records. While Touch and The Dirty Sample venture into the outer limits with their weird and creepy remixes, DJ Matto ventures onto the dance floor with a dark and epic, synth-heavy remix. Take your pick of four varieties of “Smiggity Smoke” now available for your stoner pleasure!

With 60+ albums under his belt (and at least half self-released on his own Low Pressure label) Moves is a living legend and true Canadian classic. A DJ since ’91 and producing by the following year, he’s also known to kick the occasional R-Tard rap. Moves cut his teeth as a founding member of Truro, Nova Scotia rap group Hip Club Groove, best known for their video for “Shootin’ the Gift,” an early blueprint for Trailer Park Boys by director Mike Clattenburg, and later toured extensively as the DJ for wonderful one-hitters Len (“Steal My Sunshine”). Along the way, he touched down for significant stays in Halifax, Toronto and Vancouver, before ending up back in his hometown of Truro, Nova Scotia. But wherever he put down roots, he and his Halfway House Studio proceeded to have a heavy and positive impact on the local hip hop scene. Any list of rappers for which he has produced albums must include Tachichi, Fatt Matt, Cee!!!!!!!!, Birdapres, Josh Martinez, and Governor Bolts, plus his own Hiss series.

The latest from Moves is Hiss 3 – Hissterectomy, the third instalment in his signature series of production compilations named for the high end hiss distinct to cassette tapes. When the first one dropped in 1995, simply titled Hiss, it was strictly a cassette release that was only re-released on CD much later. After Hiss 2 – Hissteria was only released on CD, volume 3 revisits the original inspiration with a limited run of cassettes available through Low Pressure, along with CDs and digital through Hand’Solo. As usual, Moves brings the boom bap beat heat, and always with a unique twist that illuminates his quirky production style. And to crush said beats, he taps the talents of underground legends Kwest Tha Madd Lad and Luke Sick, frequent collaborators like Birdapres, Mindbender, Fatt Matt, Tachichi and Cee!!!!!!!!, plus the awesome return of deviant “Mayor of the World” Governor Bolts! Be prepared to hear about: lots of drug and alcohol abuse, literal auto eroticism, this new thing called hip hop, odes to crew (or lack thereof!), and back to yet more drug abuse at the end. Jay O Smooth says it best closing out Side 1 of the cassette with “Fuckin’ LPFC”: “Low Pressure Fried Chicken gang tonight, east coast legends like Wu-Tang and Phife.” And that’s hella facts.
