Asad was born in Indianapolis. IN.
His legal name is Rasel Asad Assadi .

Asad grew up in various parts of Usa and Toronto Ontario Canada and embrace the fullness of his African/caribbean culture and Rastafarian life while living in a Jamaican/Caribbean community in Toronto , Ontario Ca

Asad mother was a singer who sung gospel r&b funk soul jazz reggae and travel all the time to different states and countries singing her songs.

Asad was gifted with a family of musican
Asad at the age of 7 begun writing and rearranging lyrics to songs

Asad at age of 10 Asad begun writing poetry
At the age of 18 in high school literature class Asad scored 100% on test score of different forms of poetry not studied.

Asad attended San Antonio College .
Asad completed his courses on radio production with a 3.5 grade point average

Asad became the first black dreadlock rasta to play alternative and reggae together in San Antonio on a college radio station Ksym 90.1 from 1998-2000.

Asad's radio show was named The Reggae International Show Asad played music on sunday's at 12a.m.-4a.m
Asad opened many doors for reggae in San Antonio by teaching the people all different forms of reggae and carribean music such as soca, calpyso, ska, mento, rumba, all forms of reggae music from rockers, dub, rub a dub roots,bass and drum to dancehall.

Asad educated and connected people in San Antonio to appreciation of all aspects of carribean music while on ksym 90.1 in San Antonio Tx

Asad hosted and selected the sound for the Bob Marley Fest in 98 and 99 and 2000. In 1999 he sang in the Bob marley fest on the stage with Michael Black, Major riley,Steel pulse,Drum, Henry Turner Jr & flavor ,Rising Lion, Big Mountain Inner Vision, Issac Halie Selassie,

Asad teamed up with Houston Tx spoken word artist and sung background .
Asad also teamed up with local texas rappers to start first united dirty south reggae combination in front of 12000 people in San Antonio Tx

Asad mc/dj for michael rose(Mykal Rose),andrew tosh,fully fullwood/ third world/Aswad and interviewed the late great joseph hill of culture.

Asad mesh with iku of Dominican Republic and attempted to bring reggae acts to San Antonio.

Asad was in charge of booking local/national reggae bands such as Tony Express,Drum, Dawtas of Jah, Boom Shaka,One Destiny and many other caribbean bands
Asad was in charge of making sure bands were taking care of..
Asad also open the door for people of San Antonio to enjoy Reggae and all types of Urban music at the sunset station

Asad was voted according to The San Antonio Current as the Best Dj in San Antonio in 2000.. Asad was also let go of the radio station in 2000 due to new management ..

Asad dj various caribbean clubs and even form the caribbean group The Lion I Sound which played at o'neils in San Antonio and various clubs in Texas and performed all first fridays in San Antonio and traveled over texas to play however after envy jealousy arouse with egos the band went their seperate ways

. Asad , begun self employement at the local flea market as a vendor of carribean and rasta apparel, jewerly and african masks and arts handling all aspects of ownership of own business and supervising employees at same time.
Asad attended Job Ready Institute recieve his certificate for building ,fixing and being a software specialist on computers
After recieving his certfication; Asad begin to write lyrics for songs again and return to music

Asad has over 500 songs written over 2000 poems and 300 short stories

Asad music track Dreadlock moving on was soundtrack for independent movie Dust also was Asad was a feature in the independent movie called Dust which was produced and directed by Brad Blank which was released in 2007 and was available in your local video stores for rent or purchase

Asad appeared in various caribbean videos with various artist such as John Lucid ,Kastaway ,and various other caribbean artist.

Asad has appeared in his own music video dir/produced by skip called Dredlock moving on and released his first cd son of soul all tracks are produced by skip wayne/songs are written and arranged by Asad and some songs are co-produced by asad

Asad is currently working on new cd call Coming of Babu which international features which bring a world reggae music experience

Asad a very serious nyabinghi congo rastaman who believes in upliftment of first his black race next of humanity.He is a vegeterian,and follows nyabinghi order strictly.
