june 15th 2006 Northeast In-Tune magazine
With music ranging the entire musical gamut, from Country and western to Alternative, Mr. E (songwriter) and the totally obscure band have achieved what very few bands have ever attempted. With seven albums in their repertoire their success is obvious. They have preformed in numerous venues and achieved many accommodations including three ASCAP Plus Awards for the 2004/2005 period for domestic writers. Their unique Dylan-esque vocals and beautiful music make for a unique blend of composition.
In “Christmas Time” the joy of one day’s effect on people and the world as a whole is rejoiced in tender loving lyrics. “Ever been lonely” is a bluesy heartbreak song with fabulous harmonica and guitar riffs. “It’s all about me” has a country flavor with a little blues background to flavor the narcissistic lyrics. “Mourn for the City” is reminiscent of some of U2’s sad introspection about the human condition. The variety of genres that Mr. E (Songwriter) and the totally obscure band touch on makes their music unique and definitive.
Though little is know about the individual members of Mr. E (Gregg Christiansen; guitars, keyboards, vocals, Michael Ryan; rhythm guitar, harmonica and vocals, Richard Ord; bass guitar, percussion and vocals, Rolfe Newton; drums and percussion) their musical value is obvious. Aside from the ASCAP Plus awards they have also achieved a tribute on www.EBANDS.com for their moving song “Winds of War” (a tribute to the soldiers over seas), and varied invitations to perform at multinational concerts. A stunning set of musical ambassadors destined for great things.

christmas song

cool song
Okay Xmas Song
Jingle bells? Okay it is a Christmas song. Good guitar riffs on the intro. Continues into the vocal. So I liked the intro. Admirable sentiments in the lyrics. I liked the part about Christmas was the culmination of love growing all year long. The rest just seemed to be a collection of regular Xmas images. But then again, most Christmas songs have never been noted for great lyrics. So yeah, rerecorded by the right artist and this song might have a chance to make the Xmas playlist.

Review Theatrical
Very theatrical intro. Shocked me with the harmonica, nice original touch. You don't see that coming. I like the music. Not too keen on the vocal melody. Lyrics are fitting though. Definitely an original sound here. A few influences, but they don't overwhelm.

Strong Song from Strong Band
Being my first review i will decide to try and make it a good one. The intro is rather crunchy, and it wasnt reeled in by it at first, but towards the bridge section i was surprised at the maturity of the band, and began to wnjoy the song. however the song got slightly weak towards the outro. i was happy to listen to it and the drums kept me tapping the whole way through

Rock from the spice rack.
Kinda like Tom Waits. I give the band points on originality of style. The intro was unusual in a way that makes you listen a little closer to the song. I like the harmonica. As far as production goes, it sounds like the vocals are a little 'crowded' like it's several tracks of vocals when 1 good take may have been more effective. I'm just really picky so I'm not dissin' the band.

christmas song

good song
A Mixer
An interesting mix of instruments. Very unique and it stands out.

Lyrics: I like that you dont try to over-simplify the rhyming scheme

Vocals: Very Euro kind of voice which bring attention to it.

Background vocals: the new standard in songs is that there are less ohhs and ahhhs and more sung lines so this may date your song just a little.

This is not a traditional christmas song but yet is within the lines...very nice

christmas song

nice little ditty
Nice delay on the vocals
It makes me think it's being sung on a mountaintop :-) This is an infectious tune and I think it's being sung in earnest. I really like the little pull-off run the guitar does in the intro, and the delay on the solo.
I like the singing voice. Steve Forbert meets Dylan. Some of the lyrics are simple, but warm. Pleasant little ditty!

good song
Not Bad
The accoustic intro was kind of nice. An interesting lead vocalist, kind of Bob Dylanish. The verse melody is good but there really isn't much of a chorus. The seasonal lyrics are kind of obvious. Not a bad job though
