Poetic Electric Troubadour

Mr. Eugene has a mature technique that allows freedom and feeling to be set loose, his voice is sometimes dark and warm, sometimes it is more like a wail or even a snarl ...but it always comes from the soul.
With this natural musical expression Mr.Eugene is not afraid to use electronic accompaniment or effects: this combined with Irish spirit and English humor creates an original and exciting performance.

Alternative international Rock;
full-on songs about people, life and
passion. Mr.Eugene lets rip on a
number of issues & instruments
including violin, vocals & different
guitars, with great production
sound and arrangements.
Mr. Eugene is an independent world rock musician who writes all his own material.

The songs are about travel, personal
politics, people, life!...
written with feeling and thought,
performed with passion and skill.
Some background...
In 1999 Mr.Eugene went to the USA to take a look at the culture & music scene. After travelling from coast to coast he arrived in San Francisco & released his debut album in the US The whine of life in 2001. In September 2001 he moved to Chicago. In March 2002 he returned to England to settle in Brighton.

Mr. Eugene was born in England of Irish blood, his influences include modern and traditional styles from various countries. He has previously toured Europe with different bands enjoying a wide range of styles including, Folk, Rock and Punk.

In South London Reggae became an influence, as did Flamenco when he lived in Southern Spain and then Eastern European music along with electronic music whilst in Berlin, Germany.

In 1997 Mr.Eugene started to concentrate on his own material; using his experience of different groups and music to the full, accompanied on electronics by the German keyboard artist Nickova (from Berlin).

Fucking Good ! haa yes
Moby singing a duet with Shane Megowen in downtown London across from an
Irish pub. While drunken monks look on.

A very well produced slice of europop with the essence of rock and sultry

Utah Boy

Ethereal, moody,eclectic- ballads, rock songs, techno raps
That's just it, when you have an original sound, you don't sound like
everyone else... songs like "Only so close" remind me of 1980's kind of Brit rock (like the cult, the Church,
or Balaam & the Angel) with some kind of wicked twist.
Songs like Walking down the road, Gee and the
tittle track are dark and sinister...kind of like walking alone, down a back
alley street late at night, in London while listening to Pink Floyd's "The
Wall" on a Walkman, under a full moon, just after a heavy rain, looking over
your shoulder feel to it... But songs like Love is blind and packed my bags
again have a nice bittersweet, romantic, longing, roadtrip feel going on.

As mentioned the music is very eclectic- ballads, rock songs, techno raps,
an ethereal instrumental in "Gee", Spanish guitar flavor, Celtic violin
flavor…it’s hard to pigeonhole the "sound."
...some songs set a mood that the unwitting listener may not be prepared to feel;
While songs like Packed my bags again and love is blind have instant appeal.

Since each song is it’s own, like a book of short stories, I think there is
something for (most!) everyone.

A lively and strong sound
THe fiddling is my favorite and the folksiness is great as well.
