Album Notes
"If you ever thought a duo would soon become tiresomely repetitive, think again. This is great intricate music where tenor sax, soprano sax, acoustic guitar and electric guitar weave and interact in endlessly-changing ways. The CD is bound to win awards...."

Geoff Chapman - Toronto Star

Mike Murley and David Occhipinti are proud to release their second duo CD, Duologue Vol. 2.

Duologue Vol. 2, with a running time of just over an hour contains 5 original compositions, 4 jazz standards and 1 arrangement of a traditional Irish melody. The CD was recorded both in the studio and live at the now defunct Top o’ the Senator in Toronto.
The 2 Murley originals are based on standard chord progressions: YBSN is based on Cole Porter’s You’d Be So Nice to Come Home To while Sheep Walking is based on the standard You Stepped Out of a Dream. David Occhipinti’s What is it? is also based on a Cole Porter tune: What is this thing Called Love? The other 2 Occhipinti originals explore David’s interest in odd time signatures. Fifth Season is in 7/8 and and Heart and Mind is in 5/8. The latter song is dedicated to one David’s favourite musicians: Joni Mitchell. David wrote the song using one of her many guitar tunings. The CD is on David Occhipinti’s Occdav Music label (OM004)
