Big Creatures & Little Creatures

by Murphy's Law

Cinematic soundscape - it's one long piece with many little vignettes, broken up into each track. Very lyrical and sweet, but then, at times, like an awesome soundtrack from a retro-active B-grade film from the future, with a nod to Tarantino or Morricone

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Murphy’s Law is proud to launch their new album CD, Big Creatures & Little Creatures. Featuring music by Tamara Murphy, winner of the inaugural Young Elder of Jazz Commission, Murphy’s Law incorporates electronic soundscapes with lush melodies and grooves with stereo drums.

Big Creatures & Little Creatures is a suite made up of five movements, each featuring different members of the ensemble. The order of the movements is not set and the movements are deconstructed on stage as part of the performance to form a larger, organic structure that fits intrinsically into the space in which it is created. Featuring the double-drummer line up, the ensemble ventures into new sonic areas in an aim to readdress the traditional band format.

Jordan Murray – trombone
Nashua Lee – guitar
Tamara Murphy – double bass
Joe Talia – drums
Danny Farrugia – drums
