Album Notes
Every tale has a beginning, this recording started 10 years ago when we were at a Renaissance faire listening to a harpist. Jayne told me she always wanted to play harp. The next day we ordered one and had it delivered to our home. After a life of playing piano Jayne felt like she had finally found her voice.

In 2009 I attended a music camp called The Swannanoa Gathering. I signed up for a class with Stephen Bennett. During the class Stephen played some songs on his 100 year old harp guitar. I was immediately hooked on the sound and the look of the harp guitar.

As things progressed Jayne and I were playing more and more as a harp and harp guitar duo. We found an online ad for a cellist .We contacted Diane and from the first notes that we played together we knew that we had found a special sound.

In the summer of 2013, we spent a day with Bev and Scott Veals. Bev was an old friend and was battling cancer. Her determination and spirit were inspiring. That night I was playing my guitar and thinking about her struggles. This brought back childhood memories of my mother’s battle with cancer. The song “A Light in the Wilderness” came from these thoughts.

We started with a simple idea to record some of our favorite Christmas tunes. Our journey has instead led us to a theme of Mary and the bond between mother and child. We hope that you enjoy listening as much as we enjoy playing these songs.
