Album Notes
These 11 tracks were recorded and mixed in Chicago at Dan Smart's home studio. With much of its subject matter on social observation, the album's cover suggests that some of the most vociferous proponents of solutions are actually making our nation's problems far worse. This can be taken in many contexts it seems; from congressional pledges to vote down the opposite party's legislature even if they agree with it, to police cameras used to issue traffic tickets rather than protect the population. Subjects of Maimone's satire include divisive politicians, fear mongering media, governmental abuse of power, and closeted public figures who have endorsed practices that are harmful to the gay community.

The album photography is by Lisa Victoria Geisler, from the man-made floods along the Missouri River over the summer. The story behind these photos helps to illustrate the major theme of this album:

"A few weeks ago, I was lamenting about the man-made flood waters heading my way. There were worst-case-scenario maps, media blitzes, road closures, town meetings, angry residents & politicians... My family, my land, and my home were spared. Many of my neighbors were not. The water is still everywhere. People are still homeless. How do you send your child to a normal school day when you are a refugee in your own backyard? The masses that have been affected need help, they need to have a voice, a home, their lives back. I sincerely hope that they will not be forgotten as the waters recede." - Lisa Victoria Geisler; visit yarnchic40.blogspot.com for the full post and more photos.
