Album Notes
My Life’s Despair is an American Gothic Doom metal band from Southern California . The listener should really put their own label on style, as the band is likely to cross numerous genres.

The initial concepts were to write about personal experiences of tragedy or dark themes, which can be heard on previous releases. The band has grown and expanded to include other people's lives or events, whether it's past or present, with a touch of fantasy or social commentary on our grim future.

A sample of writing style. The lead track of this release was inspired by Giordano Bruno. Bruno was an Italian Dominican friar, philosopher, mathematician, poet, and astrologer. He was tried for heresy and burned at the stake. Bruno is a martyr for science.

Up until 2014, My Life’s Despair was working on a full-length concept album regarding a possible apocalypse from a near-Earth asteroid found in 2004 named Apophis. The project was scrapped after Larshus felt it just wasn’t coming together the way he intended.

In 2014, Larshus hooked up with long time friend and metal-head N. Sanity. They quickly wrote numerous songs. What emerged is the CD released here.
