Album Notes
My So-Called Friend is a power-pop foursome hailing from Boston, Massachusetts. The band was born in the summer of 2005 when Erik Carleton (vocals, guitar) and Andrew Sgro (guitar, vocals) decided to abandon their old projects and team up to write a record that blended both of their loves: song craft and power pop. They quickly found a rhythm section in Dave Trombley (bass) and Erik's brother, Tim (drummer). After sending a couple of demo tracks and teaming up with Fall Out Boy/American Hi-Fi producer Scott Riebling, the band embarked on their debut recording project. On October 20th, 2006, over a year of studio sessions later, the record was released.

Only two weeks after the record was completed, even before its official release, the band received a contract from MTV, airplay from Boston's WBCN, and was featured in various news outlets such as the Boston Metro. Recently, My So-Called Friend teamed up with Sidehatch Entertainment ([Kid:Nap:Kin], Spiritual Rez) to take the band to the next step. Still, MSCF works tirelessly to secure themselves as one of Boston's best buzz bands, always writing better songs, playing better gigs, and throwing better parties.

The results of MSCF's work have been staggering, as the band has already opened a sold out Paradise Rock Club and played several shows at Boston's Axis, as well as New York's CBGBs, The Viper Room in L.A. and Seattle's Showbox. Polished, upbeat, and energetic, their live performance draws comparisons to bands like the All-American Rejects, Blink 182, and Weezer.

Currently, My So-Called Friend is putting together an East Coast tour, optioning residency opportunities in Boston, and prepping for a handful of radio shows. They also look to reenter the studio to lay down a number of new tracks written since the October release of their self-titled debut.

OMG! This is the best and hottest and so-down-to-earth band you will ever meet! I interviewed them with a friend for my TV show on my town TV channel. Sgro and Eric agreed and we had soooo much fun! Eric was so nice! And the rest of the band was just as nice! hehe
I got great pics and great and fun footage! This CD is the BEST

what makes this CD really good, is that i can listen to the whole thing without having to skip songs that i don;t like, because they all are amazing! my favorite songs on the CD are "i hate it" and "the bottom". they are all really original, music and lyrics. they have a unique sound, and this cd rocks... so buy it
