Album Notes
"The album material is uniquely inventive and the melodies are fun and crisp. The best taste of acid folk I've ever tasted." Doug Giest, Grammy Award-winning Engineer

"Songs that aren't afraid to be atypical or pop, thought-provoking lyrics, both political and fun. Colorful, danceable grooves,...contribute to the overall charm of this band." Barry Harrington / Barry Harrington and Associates, Industry Consultant to Major Performing Artists

"Mystery School has been learning their lessons and studying hard resulting in a unique blend of past and current sounds that will carry them into the future." Ira Gordon, General Manager/Program Director, KBAC Radio Free Santa Fe

Mystery School is a New Mexico-based Desert Rock band creating original music. They debuted at 3SidedWhole 2001 under their former name, Within, and have been evolving ever since. Their music, combines thoughtful lyrics that stream charm, desert wit, meditation and truth. The songs are wrapped in a warm and welcoming bed of melody that wheels through unexpected turns and opens windows on relationships, social commentary, global healing and plain ole grooviness. It's post-modern but with analogue warmth. It's earthy but of light. It's revolutionary but easy like good medicine. It's a rock of consciousness. Between the inspiring lyrics, smooth harmonies and intricate rhythms, you can hear for yourself the curriculum of Mystery School.

Matthew Blank ~ rhythm guitar/vocals/songwriting
He finds inspiration for writing and playing through the healing and transformative aspects of music and the dynamic exchange between performer and audience. Matthew is a natural storyteller and his creations tend to have ironic, yet healing elements. He’s a social worker, community activist, and is co-founder of JournE Dance, ecstatic meditation through freeform dance. “I’m so disciplined at writing music that I learned to play guitar.”

Diana Good “Dianivy” ~ vocals/keyboards/percussion/songwriting
Raised in Virginia, Dianivy was nurtured early on with 4-part acapella singing and piano lessons. She now calls New Mexico home and has been performing in musicals, operas, show choirs, and folk-rock bands since her youth. She brings a bubbly warmth to her music and insists on feeling every note. “Again from the top!”

Greg Gould ~ bass
Greg is first and foremost a foodologist and host of the cable TV show Foodology. He is highly dedicated to serving others in the community as well as to anchoring a model for sustainable living through conscious cultivation. French-born and Manhattan-raised, he is a student of myth and world cultures. “Once more with flavor '" Mangia!, Mangia!”

Eric McEuen ~ lead guitar/vocals/piano/songwriting
Eric studied both music and folklore in Boston and found an outlet for both interests in this band. He’s involved in an ongoing exploration of various styles of music through reading, collecting, and attending music festivals. He regularly unlocks the mysteries behind the licks of the great guitar masters. “Why buy food when you can buy music?”

Jonathan Wolfe ~ cello
Jonathan recognizes that fractals are the unified field theory of visual metaphor. He’s a neuroscientist, community leader, and founding artist of SkyDyes!, creator of world class tie-dye textiles. Look up to see Jonathan piloting Gloria Caeli, a hot air balloon and the world’s largest tie-dye artwork. “Thanks for playing!”

Pax ~ drum kit/percussion
A truly intuitive drummer, Pax brings wisdom from experience blended with a genuine sense of awe at the newness of each song '" even if he’s played it a hundred times. Family for Pax is, by definition, an expansive idea and he models inclusiveness with his family at home, work, community, and thankfully band. “We’re all here to learn.”
