Album Notes
This album combines rock-n-roll, twang, surf guitar and classical themes into adventure stories told by guitars, synthesizers and accompaniment. "Insanitizers deploy their marvelous talent for the guitar to the interpretation of a modern vibe -- what results is a completely novel experience of a genre you thought you knew and understood. Guitar Fun CD, Winner, Best Instrumental Rock Album, July 2016" -- The Akademia.

Guitar Fun is a Top Ten Pick by Pipeline Magazine editor Al Taylor (Autumn 2016). He writes, “a full hour of guitar fun…Rich guitar sounds abound as Shootout sets a western theme and Dark Eyes Rock gives the old folk tune a good working over. Tasty echo and twang decorate Rocket Pack…and there’s more rich guitar on Huntington Surf.

“There’s a resonating guitar intensity…organ plays the support role on Love in Purgatory…and it takes the lead on Resonance. MisiGila is from the same dynamic mold as Misirlou. Waterboard Surf is another lively piece swathed with guitar and Loose Surfer features a pedaled lead. Listening to this album is a very intense experience, not for the fainthearted!”

“New Gandy Dancer” Magazine from the U.K. reviewed "Guitar Fun" (version 1) in Oct 2016, issue #125. Editor Davy Peckett wrote, “We like The Insanitizers!…another jolly twangfest of no less than 22 great tracks. Good stroke having the keyboard-led Resonance to break up the guitars…The covers are delightful arrangements of Irish Washerwoman (and she rocks!) and the European classic Dark Eyes. Rocket Pack has a great Joe Meek guitar sound. Solid twin guitars with Malaguena. Misigila is the big surf sound…W-Ray Gun a deep responant twanger finishes this fine set.” Rated 4/4.

Those reviewed the first version of Guitar Fun. We made version two for even more fun.

Track listing:

1. Shootout. Ride in, confront, battle, ride out. This recording won two awards. It took First Prize in the Dallas Songwriters Association 2016 Competition for instrumentals. It was acclaimed "Best Instrumental Rock Song" by The Akademia in June 2015. They wrote, "Clever instrumental renditions of gunfire decorate this Western-themed creation."

2. Dark Eyes Rock. Russian folk song. Frenetic. Russian friends approve enthusiastically.

3. Rocket Pack. To orbit, back, and again. Jet pack guy saw only our trail.

4. Huntington Surf. Glide and feel the spray!

5. Murder in Paradise. Murder, paradise, repeat. The strike is on the first beat, with the cymbal on the guitar slide.

6. Love in Purgatory. So beautiful, so unreachable, so sad. Harpsichord, guitar, harpsichord.

7. A Day in Tokyo. Gogo, gogo, gogo...

8. A Night in Vienna. Ride the carousel. Polka, March and Twist beats flow smoothly into each other, so nice.

12. Malaguena. A literal recitation.
