Album Notes
"Another Big Day" is simply a delight.
Philadelphia MetroKids Magazine

"Kid-music newcomers Ben Decter and Dave Nachmanoff have put together an assortment of songs that rivals the best music for little people out there."
LA Family Magazine

"This is the 'Free to Be You and Me' for our times."
Alice Greenwood

"Far more pop-infused and parent-friendly than the usual Raffi/Barney/Shoot-me-now-and-put-me-out-of-my-misery kid's music."
Davis Enterprise

"Another Big Day" follows a day in the life of two kids. Ben and Dave's songs resonate with kids of all ages and their families. WXPN (Philadelphia), WPKN (Connecticut) and WERS (Boston) have made "Another Big Day" a vibrant part of their programming.

Special guest musicians include Jeff Russo on drums (Grammy-nominated rock band Tonic); bluegrass legend Herb Pedersen on dobro and banjo (Laurel Canyon Ramblers); Steve Madaio on trumpet and flugelhorn (Stevie Wonder, the ROlling Stones); Bob Malone (singer-songwriter extraordinaire) on piano, organ and accordion; Jeffrey Nachmanoff on percussion; Paul Bushnell (Jewel, Sheryl Crow) on bass; Mike Lindauer on fretless bass and violinist Gabe Witcher (Laurel Canyon Rambler's, Jerry Douglas).

Most songs feature Dave's singing. He also handled most of the guitar chores and some other instruments. The stellar production and engineering was Ben's handiwork, as were various piano, keyboard and electronic parts.

Jackie Sloan, Christian Bordal, Rick Hall, Pier Carlo Talenti, Karen Nash and William Coleman all contribute lead and backing vocals.

This is a GREAT gift for every child (and parents)!
My son received this CD as a gift from a friend of the artists. Since then I have bought 3 copies of the CD to give as gifts. Yes, that is how supportive I am of this unique kid's project. But this really is a CD for the whole family, so don't worry if you find yourself listening to it in the car without the kids!

This is not your typical children's album
This is not your typical children's album. No cloying dinosaurs, no cutesy ditties, no disneyesque woodland creatures with voice disorders--Ben Dichter and Dave Nachminoff are here with a group of musicians that will knock your kid's socks off. My 3 1/2 year old and 7 year old danced around the room for the duration of the album. They laughed and sang the chorus. Favorite songs on first listening were "Goin' to Grandma's", "Can't Get to the Zoo", "The Bath Chase", and "Just Ask the Sheep." These all warrented a 'play it again, Daddy.' As did the entire album. The songs really hit home--they're about kids, made for kids, and never insult a child's intelligence. What struck me is that my children were actually engaged not only in the music, but in listening to the lyrics as well. But bedtime came 'round and then came the uncanny part--we actually lived "Just Ask the Sheep." The songs are a bouncy, engaging, funny, energetic, and folksy mix with dynamite back up from a quality group of musicians. And the best part--you'll like them too! (Just ask the sheep.)

Sing along
We first heard the music in a 4-5 yearold's dance class and loved it. Our favorite songs are "To the Ball" and "Gulliver the Cowboy Cat".

This is an outstanding cd for kids and their parents!
What an excellent CD "Another Big Day" is. My son and I listen to it in the car all the time. This wonderful compilation of songs describes events in the day of a life of two small kids. The songs are witty, smart, and interesting. Musically, Decter and Nachmanoff shine here - they incorporate so many different styles and types of music. You won't regret owning this gem!
