ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"5 Strings Attached With No Backing" is a collection of both traditional and original tunes capturing the beautiful sound of the old time clawhammer and finger-picking style of the 5 string banjo with guitar accompaniment. Unique versions of old time songs are included along with a variety of instrumentals, which makes for great listening from start to finish. Banjo tunings and keys are documented for the banjo playing enthusiast.

"It's no small thing to put together an album of banjo tunes that's consistently listenable and entertaining as this one most certainly is"
John Lupton, Sing Out Magazine

- "A far above average regional-level of old time music"
Bill Wagner, Bluegrass Unlimited

- "It's always wonderful to discover a true gem of a recording on a small or self produced record label by performers previously unknown to you. This is one such CD"
Al Reiss , Dirty Linen

- "I've happily discovered it to be one of my favorite clawhammer records released in 1997"
Donald Nitchie - Banjo Newsletter

- "What a gem! Old-time banjo tunes and songs never sounded better as far as I'm concerned"
Suzi Wollenberg - WVUD FM

I love it
There's some fantastic playing in this album. I just love listening to this CD over and over. My favorite tune on it is "Fretless" but all of them are great.
