Album Notes
"Nancy has an East Texas, down on the farm, fence rail sound. It is smoky, sexy, and rare as real wood string pegs." "I loved her warmth, strength and openness about her life, her great voice and lovely songs." "Nancy has an ability and honesty to cut through to what is basic...calming and hopeful...truth in a musical format!"

Nancy Cassidy, one of the country's most popular kids recording artists, is demonstrating a similar appeal to a broader audience with the release of her newest CD, You Reel Me In. Her voice and songs are "imbued with warmth, spice, and intimacy" in this new collection of original music that spans a variety of styles including folk, R&B, and country. Nationally known folk musician, Keith Greeninger, produced You Real Me In and provides soulful guitar and vocals. Multi-instrumentalist, Dayan Kai, adds a jazzy saxophone, piano and organ, and Chicago-born Ronny Crawford provides distinctive rhythms with drums and percussion. Tim Prince and Keith Greeninger mixed You Reel Me In at Ridge Top Studios, Aptos, CA for twitter twatter music.

Both children and parents have been enjoying Nancy's music and holler-along handbooks over the years. Her KidsSongs series, produced by Klutz, includes five CDs. Her first children's CD, KidsSongs: A Holler-Along Handbook, received a Gold Record from the Recording Association of America Inc. KidsSongs Jubilee received both the 1990 Parents' Choice Award for Audio Recording and the American Library Association 'Notable Children's Book' award. In August 2004, Klutz released a two-CD box set and sing-along book combining Nancy's KidsSongs and KidsSongs 2 that received the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Platinum Award for 2005.

Nancy's voice is frequently heard across the US as she tours singing in museums, schools, libraries, and folk festivals. Her children's music is broadcasted on PBS's Bookworm Bunch.

A very special recording, well done!
Nancy has a remarkable warmth that really comes through on this recording. There's an unabashed, wholesome sexiness in her voice here that is not vampy at all, but instead makes you feel just like that valued, special someone sitting on the porch next to her. Smooth as the smoke from a Cuban cigar, and much easier on the heart! Thanks, Nancy, for making music like this.

Uplifting and Inspiring Songs
You Reel Me In is yet another fine example of Nancy Cassidy's ability to write and perform uplifting and inspiring songs.

I love Nancy's sound; no one else does it like she does.
I first heard Nancy on the Kid's tapes she did -- listening to them over and over with my niece. I still have them and pull them out and listen to them occasionally. I love all the songs on her "You Reel Me In." I hope she makes more Kid's tapes for my grandchildren.
