ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The Artists--The Heffernans hail from Chicago and are a family of singers, musicians, filmmakers, actors, and songwriters. Nancy Hays (mother) worked as an opening act for stars including Conway Twitty, Lee Greenwood, Glen Campbell and Ronnie Milsap in the 1990s. She performed extensively in Las Vegas, starring in her own show at the Riviera Hotel during Nationsl Finals Rodeo. Nancy released her first country music CD in 2000, which contained the song "Come Dance with Me" which became a worldwide line dance hit and is now considered a line dance classic. Nancy released two additional CDs, "Get in Line" and "Big Band Country" and has toured the UK five times in the last ten years. In 2011 she began introducing her children in her stage show at performing arts centers and at festivals in their hometown of Chicago, IL. Mary (22), Matt (18) and Caroline (13) all have worked in the professional theatre and music scene in Chicago prior to forming an act with their mother, Nancy. Mary sang in musical reviews at the Wilmette Theatre, performed the National Anthem at major sporting events and performed as vocalist with the Jimmy Maxwell Band and the Robert Benson Orchestra. Matthew Heffernan worked as a professional actor and musician (violinist) in the Tony Award winning Goodman and Chicago Shakespeare Theatres. He joined the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra as violinist in eighth grade and was Concertmaster of the St Ignatius Orchestra. He also worked as principal violinist with the Robert Benson Orchestra. Caroline Heffernan has worked as a professional actress since the age of five and has performed multiple leading roles in Tony Award winning theatres; Steppenwolf, Goodman, Chicago Lyric Opera, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre and Lookingglass Theatre, Paramount and others. She has also appeared in television commercials and films. The Chicago Tribune's theatre critics have called her work, including her acting role as Scout in To Kill a Mockingbird" at Steppenwolf "astonishing" and her voice as Annie in Annie at Paramount "hit out of the park". Michael co-wrote the musical "How Can You Run with a Shell on Your Back?" with Alan Schmuckler which was featured in the Nantional Alliance for Musical Theatre's 2009 Festival of New Musicals. He has worked as a musical director for several Tony Award-winning regional theatres in the Chicago area.
