This album was inspired by a series of Christmas concerts (Centerville Presbyterian Church in Fremont, CA) of which I have been a part from 2004 - 2011. Each year the choir director, Darryl Guzman, would ask me to write a song to perform in the concert along with an instrumental performed by my husband, Brad Catania. It was always a challenge to write something based on the theme for each year, and a new stretch for me to write choir parts and Brad to write orchestration. As a rock and blues artist from the old school, this was something entirely different for me musically. We decided to make the album this summer to preserve the music I had written, and as a 10th anniversary CD for the concerts which started in 2002. It was fun researching the material, going over old videos and looking for the music and lyrics I had stuffed away in various files. I love the fact that I was able to use the choir on 4 tracks, aided by the expertise of the engineer on the project, Don Turney of DKS studios. It came out better than I had expected and i hope that you will enjoy it too. God bless you this Christmas and all throughout the holidays and new year.
Peace to all! Nancy
