Album Notes
Naomi has been playing guitar and writing songs for nine years, having started musically on the double bass as a youngster. The richness of her voice is what first strikes a new listener, while her remarkable technical guitar ability satisfies the musically savvy. Her songs range from heart-felt and intricately melodic, to agile and aggressively percussive. Her style places her in the pop/rock/folk category and she has been likened to Norah Jones, Ani DiFranco, Paul Simon and Edie Brickell. She grew up in California, lived in Seattle, Washington for a while, and currently resides in Brisbane, Australia.

Naomi's first release is here. The seven track 'Tenth Floor' Ep was recorded and produced in Australia by the eternally stylish and impeccably dressed Mikey Moon. The songwriting and musicianship are dazzling displays of both songwriting and musicianship. Michael Patterson, Will Eager, and Sam Vincent from the gypsy band 'Doch' have contributed violin, bass guitar and percussion skills. The illustrations were drawn in Portland, Oregon by the defender of all things visual, the woman who put the 'e' on the end of 'Artiste,' the indestructible Aimee Erickson.

"She is rockin' the Hard Rock. It's not gonna get any prettier than this." DJ Fade Starr, Hard Rock Cafe Hollywood.

I Embrace Myself
This music pulls your heart from your chest and holds it still beating in front of you like that evil priest in Temple of Doom. 'Cept nicer. In Naomi's voice are the trials of humanity, all its tenderness and fragility and poignance and wisdom and deep resounding beauty. Also she's funny and smart and pretty and politically iconoclastic. Buy this. Now. Wickie-wickie wah-wah. I have spoken.

good all the time, therefore timeless
your cd is the one on my shelf that gets played all the time, and it always matters everytime i listen to it. i love your vocals and the message in your voice but i mostly love your kick ass guitar madness. its perfectly delightful and scintilating.

I don't know shit. I just think it sounds hella good.
Hey Nay! I love the album. I've already told hella
people about it and will tell more. Good selection of
the older stuff on the album, I can't get enough of
"Pacific." I'm loving your newer songs, I think you
are progressing. Not that you needed to, I just think
that since you have been playing and writing for a
while now, you are distancing yourself from your
influences and creating a sound of your own.
Whatever, I don't know shit. I just think it sounds
hella good.

intricate, intimate vocals, smart
This CD is 7 songs of beautifully crafted melodies and guitar riffs. Naomi's voice has an intimate presence that is well produced on her debut CD
The songs are gorgeous, so dont be surprised if you are playing this constantly as it is sure to make you feel good.

I smiled, I cried, I'd listen again and again, it was better than Cats
I can't believe this is her first CD. Her voice is refined, melodic and pleasing to the audible palate. Her guitar skills are wicked. This is my favorite CD right now and I listen to it almost every night before I go to sleep. Nothing like a sweet tune to ease one into REM. Buy it. You'd be a fool not to. Then you can be the one that says "I was listening to her way before..."
