Album Notes
This cd was recorded lovingly at Raincoast Studio on the incredible west coast of Canada with the late Jerry Paquette at a time when my spiritual blossoming was just barely beginning.... To write, record and produce these songs was like a dream coming out of the mist. It was a very empowering time in my life and I continue to create powerful experiences in my life. As a songwriter, it is such a pleasure when I "receive" a new song. It is very much as though I am here to listen for and simply share the melodies I hear. I feel they are already done, waiting. And I believe we all have some impeccable gift to share through ourselves, through my music I invite you to find yours.

Lay Down was delivered and written in about 30 minutes. I couldn't get the chorus out of my head, writing it down and doing a simple recording was actually a form of relief so it wouldn't keep going around in my head! It's as though the song is released in that moment and about to begin a new life. For me Lay Down is about the sweet, simple pleasure of laying down beside someone. Feeling the heat of their body, the beat of their heart and rhythm of their breathing. It's a way to feel connected deeply without words.

Sunrise is about freeing an innocent, younger love. Holding hands, laying on a blanket in a field, on an island.... together.... waiting for the sun to come up, inevitably, again. Knowing it may not last but staying present in the moment.

Hold Up The Mirror was written in my head, without a guitar or any other instrument while a a vacation in Mexico. Again, the melody and lyrics arrived from somewhere, like tuning into a frequency, I wrote the lyrics down and trusted that I would still "hear" the melody and chords behind it when I got home. I did. I have known since I was about 20 years old that people in my life were always a mirror of me somehow, positive or negative. Sometimes showing me something good to celebrate to cultivate in myself, other times showing me something that needs attention. The work is always within, then it changes out there :)
