Russian-born classical pianist NATASHA MARIN enjoys working as a soloist and with orchestras, chamber ensembles and piano duos. She has been featured on radio and TV, recordings, and has been performing extensively in Europe and in the United States, appearing live in venues such as St. Petersburg Philharmonic and Capella Halls in Russia, Carnegie Weill Recital Hall in New York, Comerica Theater in Phoenix, AZ, Leo Bing Theater, Zipper Hall, Schoenberg Hall, and Thorne Hall in Los Angeles among many others. Natasha’s piano duo “Double Sharp” with Maria Demina premiered in June 2008 in Los Angeles, won the Grand Prize at the regional piano duo competition and has been showcased nationwide in live concerts and on the radio. The program features music of Russian Romantic and 20th century composers and incorporates custom designed costumes by Vera Chernova DeFehr. “Double Sharp” made special appearances at charity events for Robert Shapiro’s Foundation and Alice Cooper’s Solid Rock Foundation. Natasha’s piano duo with internationally acclaimed pianist Gerald Robbins premiered on the West Coast at the Schoenberg Hall in June 2012 and on the East Coast in November 2012 at Carnegie Weill Hall. In 2013 Natasha presented new two-piano, four and six-hands program “Piano Extravaganza” with pianists Dmitry Rachmanov and Maria Demina. Natasha Marin collaborates with vocalists from the US and Europe. Together with French soprano Nicol Mecerova, Natasha Marin created the “Voyage a Paris” program, spanning 200 years of the French Art Song. Their performances were enthusiastically received in the US and Russia. Natasha Marin’s latest collaborations with vocalists include concerts in California and Austria with soprano Nicole Taylor who was a 2012 Arts Envoy appointed by the US Department of State, and concerts in Los Angeles, Alsace and Paris with mezzo-soprano Victoria Shereshevskaya. Natasha Marin has collaborated with Santa Cecilia Orchestra performing for its orchestral and chamber programs, as well as with Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra for its’ “Play Me, I’m Yours” project at the Royce Hall. Aside from classical repertoire Natasha also plays other genres. She has lent her talent for the recording of the classical crossover album “Siren” by Sasha and Shawna, produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Peter Asher, and recently presented her new program with American rock/pop vocalist Jon Fiore. Natasha also performs with actor/comedian Cheech Marin. Together they have appeared at the Hollywood Bowl, the Inaugural Gala for the Valley Performing Arts Center of the California State University, Northridge and Bonnaroo Festival in Manchester, TN and in Boulder Theater, CO. Natasha began her piano studies at age 6. By age 10 she was playing in competitions and prestigious concert halls and at the same time she was accepted to the Special Music School for Gifted Children. Though Natasha considers Los Angeles to be her home since 1995, her higher education has continued in both US and Russia. She earned her BA with honors from the Rimsky-Korsakov Music College in the class of Oleg Koshelev and Leonid Sintsev, and later completed her studies for graduate degrees at the St. Petersburg State Conservatory, where she studied with Leonid Sintsev and Igor Lebedev and at the University of California, Los Angeles, where she studied piano performance with Vitaly Margulis and Antoinette Perry, contemporary music with Grammy Award-winning pianist Gloria Cheng, and worked with acclaimed scholar/media author Robert Winter. Natasha is President of the Natasha Marin Production Group and Founder of the Marin Salon Series. In 2013 she launched her music-inspired jewelry line "HighNotesCollection". Natasha Marin resides in Pacific Palisades, CA. She was married to actor/comedian Cheech Marin on August 8, 2009 by then Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and in 2010 changed her last name from Rubin to Marin.
