*All compositions by Gideon Brazil except excerpts of 'Jagul' by Lotring and 'Nori Mas' by Asnawa. These pieces are traditionally played on Balinese Gamelan.
* 'Ad Lieb' is inspired by a David Liebman Group composition called 'The Intangibles'.
This album is dedicated to my grandparents.

Gideon Brazil currently resides in Brunswick, a suburb of Melbourne, Australia. He performs around Melbourne and throughout Australia on Saxophone, Flute & Clarinet.

Gideon has performed/recorded with artists from many genres and is an active member of the groups: Gotye (woodwinds/backing vocals), Cleverhorse, Hoodoo Mayhem New Orleans Brass Band, Tim Willis' 'The End', and his own projects Deco Duo, Trio Brazil, The Southside Hammond Clan, and original jazz project The Natives. The Natives released their debut album in 2008 featuring Gideon Brazil's original compositions, featuring some of Australia's finest improvisers (Shannon Barnett, Tamara Murphy, Darrin Archer, Ed Fairlie, Ronny Ferella).

Gideon has played at music festivals including Homebake, Splendour In The Grass, Meredith, Golden Plains, Wangaratta Festival of Jazz, Melbourne International Jazz Festival, The Great Escape Festival (Brighton, UK), St Kilda Festival and Queenscliff Music Festival to name a few and has performed at Australia's finest venues including Sydney Opera House, Rod Laver Arena, Hamer Hall, The Forum, State Theatre (Vic), Myer Music Bowl, Atheneum, Powerhouse (Bris), Thebarton (Adel), Her Majesty's (Adel), The Regent, BMW Edge and at Melbourne's jazz clubs, Bennetts Lane, Uptown and The Paris Cat.

Gideon has played alongside some of Australia's finest bands/artists including, Gotye, Bennetts Lane Big band, Adam Simmons Toy Band, Andrea Keller, Julien Wilson, Scott Tinkler, Graeme Lyall, Mark Isaacs, Eugene Ball, Adrian Sherriff, Marc Hannaford, Shannon Barnett, Ronny Ferella, Tamara Murphy, Darrin Archer, Jon Delaney, Tom Lee, Lachlan Maclean and the Tim Shawcross Septet. Gideon has toured throughout Canada, Europe and the UK and extensively throughout Australia.

Gideon has sat on the Arts Victoria funding peer review panel and is currently an active committee member of the Melbourne Jazz Fringe Festival. Gideon has a Bachelor of Music (Melbourne University - classical/contemp), a Graduate Diploma in Music (Victorian College of the Arts - jazz) and an AMusA (Associate Diploma of Saxophone).
