by Nels Cline Trio

Avant-garde guitartist Cline roams freely on guitar, in this trio setting. Freaky looping, dissonant shards of notes, punkie speed metal rave-ups, delicate storms of sound, played with intense emotion & abandon.

Album Notes
Nels Cline is a major force as a guitarist and improviser, ever since his debut recording in 1978 and as a group leader in 1988. Named by Rolling Stone as one of 20 “new guitar gods” and one of the top 100 guitarists of all time, Cline has gained his widest fame as a member of acclaimed rock band Wilco since 2004. "Ground", features the excellent rhythm section of Micheal Preussner on drums / organ and Bob Mair on bass.

The music goes straight to the solar plexus and stirs things up.
I played this while I was at a friend's house over the weekend and it inspired a poem. Which gave me a nice break from working on the mss. of my third book. Great CD.

This album is amazing!
I this this album sums up Nels Cline from beginning to end. It is one of my favorites!!!! What a ground breaking album for the fusion scene in the mid 90's. It does not sound like cheesy prog jazz like most stuff did in the 80's-early 90's for improv type of bands. I love this album, check it out!!!
