Album Notes
“From The Street To The Road” is the second Neon Graffiti album, following closely on the heels of our debut album “I’d Do It Like That” released in 2007. While the first album had more of a light rock / pop feel to it, this one clearly has a more classic rock vibe. It consists of songs we have been playing for awhile and know inside out and backwards, so it made a lot of sense to get in the studio and lay ‘em down and see how they turned out. Aiming for more of a live feel, we tried to retain as many of the original tracks as possible from our initial recording session. In that light we were pretty successful, with most of the tracks recorded in a single, one-day session, and a much smaller number re-tracked later.

I’m blessed to have found such great music buddies in John Artz, Bruce Armstrong, Keith Hosner, and Dan Agne, the band members of Neon Graffiti. We all have day jobs but also love to play music, and really get a charge out of dreaming up arrangements for and playing original songs. We’ll never be famous, but at least we can leave a little bit of a legacy behind, and maybe a fan or two.

I’d also like to thank John Hoekstra, Audio Engineering whiz and owner of Chance Encounter Productions where the album was recorded, for providing the technical process and golden ears to shape our sound and put out a solid product. Additionally, I’d like to thank Keith Hosner for his extended contributions on this album. Besides his stellar electric guitar work, Keith was in the thick of mixing and mastering, plus did a fantastic job on the album art work. Well done!

Of course, these songs would never have seen the light of day without the lyrics provided by my terrific co-writers: Robert George (Cochise, AZ), Frank Herman (Denver, CO), Tim Perry (Grand Rapids, MI), Clayton Sawyer (Grand Rapids, MI), and Andy Furlong (Hamilton, Ontario). Couldn’t have done it without you!

Finally, my friends and I would like to thank our lovely wives for letting us sneak out every once in awhile to crank up some loud music and step into another world for awhile. We love you dearly!
