Album Notes
"In Your Face" is the best way to describe NerCity (pronounced Inner City) poetry. After creating a strong following in California this "Negro Exposing Reality" has finally released his long awaited debut album entitled "Product of The Product". This album includes some of the most uplifting & profound spoken word poetry one has ever heard.

Tracks ranging from social change, injustice, love, lust, nostalgia & pain all poured into 21 incredible tracks. Special guests who grace this album include Taalam Acey, Scorpio Blues, Gabrilla Ballard, plus some of the most talented musicians the Bay Area has to offer.

Get caught up in the action on "The Riot Was a Riot," attempt to keep your composure at work while listening to "Corporate Takeover," find out how NerCity's "Jelly" became societies drug of choice, follow his b-boy voyage on "Hip on Hop," or simply feel the confessions of his past in "Product of The Product".

Regardless of what you may have heard in the past, NerCity's "Product of The Product" is in one word...DOPE!

You are by far my favorite poet...
If I may be so inclined to say it…the album was dynamic!! Congratulations on being a detrimental part of “the movement.” I wish I could tell you which poem was my favorite, but I can’t; I loved them all. Keep doing ya thang...Handle ya biz...

Hot! HOT! HOT!
Did I mention that this album was HOT? Pure fire for a poet. NerCity takes you on a ride through his eyes. Gives it to you raw with no chaser. You can feel his emotions as if he was performing right in front of you. IT'S A MUST BUY!!!

I laughed, cried, got upset, aroused, & thought.
I heard you speak at the nuyo cafe a few weeks ago and after hearing the poem batteries I knew I had to get the CD. My favorite track changes everyday. Corporate Takeover is definately my favorite track on Monday mornings before I go off to work. 937 messages is the funniest thing I've ever heard! And though I love the way you performed Batteries at the nuyo' you topped yourself by doing it with my future baby's daddy Mr. Taalam Acey. Brotha I don't say this often but I will say it now I'M A FAN!

Truest words spoken. Well put.
It is very hard to hear truth on a CD. Mainstream music just don,t Product of the Product IT'S JUST DOPE.

Powerful Soul Searching
Brutha your album tells my story and I don't even live in California. The poem I killed him is one of the most powerful poems I have ever heard. Batteries hits home because I have two brothers in prison. Bloodlines made my wife cry. And I never try to condone drug use but I need to start snorting soul train lines! Thanks for a well rounded album.

"That's he, that's she, that's we, that's me!"
That's hot! From the cover to to the tracks. I can't help but feel that I'm all that because I have "Product of The Product." Add my e-mail to your list and keep me up to date.

Wonderful depiction of a inner city perspective
From the first track I was blown away. I’m going to purchase two more copies for friends. They are missing out by not hearing what this brilliant brother has to say.

To call this work of art an album... is an injustice. It is the personification
This work of art transends the genre of spoken word and poetry. This work of art puts the listener in the shoes of the great poet performing his work of art. The struggle and temptation of the hood, the frustration of the corporate boardroom meetings from 9-5, and the intimate details of the bedroom. The poet could be from any hood and yet "any hood" can feel the heart and soul of this project. I am excited to hear this kind of life injected in the artform of spoken word. Not the same cliches used over the same drum beats. No spoken word being drowned out by a dangerously loud beat. Just pure lyrical content over quality production. You do not need to be a spoken word artist or fan to appreciate this CD and you don't have to be from the inner city to appreciate this CD. But if you are a poet you will say, "Damn, wish I would have thought of that!" Much love and respect to the hottest poet signed or unsigned NerCity.
