Album Notes
The Converted Voices were formed in1989 by Rev. Patrick Whitfield. Members at that time also included Calvin Brown, Rev. Melvin Penson, Dwight Standifer, and Pastor Chris Traylor. Under the wings of Lee Williams & The Spiritual QC's, the group traveled and sang all over the south. By many members being called into the ministry, the longest surviving member is Calvin Brown. With most lead vocals done now by his younger, spiritually motivated, & 17 year veteran Tobie Blanch, the duo has have endured the storm to hold together & present The New Converted Voices. With 20 years in the world Traditional gospel quartet, The New Converted Voices proudly want to present "A New Beginning". Brothers, Calvin Brown &Tobie Blanch along with long time friend Tim Frierson& 2nd Tenor singer Willie Whitfield are regrouped & ready to let the world hear what quartet gospel has been missing for a long time, Flavor. In keeping the group going, the group has appeared on programs with Lee Williams & The Spritual QC's, Rev. Andrew Cheairs & The Songbirds, Bob Holloway & The Southern Sons, George Dean & The Gospel 4, Determined, and a host of others . New recently joined bandmates Andrew Long, Kenya Parks, Kedron Brown, & Dede Penson stand firm in Keepin it Old School. So sitback, enjoy, and remember if you like what you hear, try to bring us to your city or town and we'll be glad to come and help lift up the name of Jesus. With the recently released single," I Call Him Jesus" featuring Ms. Lisa Knowles of The Brown Singers is just an example what to expect with the purchase of the album. Taking Quartet gospel back to it's element, "A New Beginning".
