ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
What hits you first about New Pony is the sheer exuberance on display in each performance. Listening to these tracks, it's unclear who's having more fun, the band or the listener, and this is even more true for their live shows. The second thing that hits you is that these guys live, eat, and breathe The Funk. On each and every track, they create a groove that's as wide as a boulevard and as tight as a wire, and they never lose that balance. Ever. The third thing that strikes you is the stylistic variety of the songs. No two are exactly alike, and yet there's an unmistakable stylistic signature that creates a common thread from start to finish. In a day and age where most albums are simply an amalgamation of songs ready for download, New Pony has gone old school and created a 47-minute through composed piece of work that rewards the listener by taking them on a complete ride. And what a ride it is!
