Around every corner is the light and shadow of love and lust.

Here goes another round of modest, heart on your sleeve tunes mashed up with indie-pop, Americana and 1980's guitar-driven new wave. The group whose familiar, yet fresh presentation has previously invited comparisons to a second distant cousin of Alex Chilton as well as Guided By Voices, Paul Westerberg, Phoenix, Rogue Wave and the Postal Service has delivered a real charmer in 2017's Wonder Lust.

In the third collection in NSW’s discography, color and light abound from a more hopeful place of inspiration. Synthesizers add more sonic texture and the introduction of Lauren Bray on keyboards and vocals checks the box on a more diverse approach. Recorded during the winter and spring of 2016 at Tittel’s Fruit Hill studio, the songs grew out of a very different non-musical project. Tittel describes the situation. “I was asked to publish a photo book, a visual diary of people, places and memories of my life. The publisher’s idea was to combine the photo book with a collection of songs that I’d write using the photos as inspiration. The combination was a better marketing story. For a few reasons I didn’t publish the book. But I did write the songs so they live on here as a record. I’m aware now, that I had written songs about being in and out of love and all of the various stages in between. I guess they are songs about love but not at all love songs. Maybe that's what all songs are about really. My hope is it is good listening and maybe a bit less melancholic pop than the previous records have been. It certainly feels like its universally relevant right now.”
