Damage Done

by New Sun

Influenced by the great Prog Rock bands of the 70's and the heavy Prog bands of the 90's to present day, New Sun explores odd meter grooves, complex time changes and a creative ambient aspect, all tied together by introspective lyrics that tell stories.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Damage Done was 3 years in process and represents a shift in direction for New Sun. After the release of Expectations in 2001, CSC, Tru and Alex took a long hiatus. Until late 2008 when Tru and CSC began working on new material and some material left incomplete from the Expectations sessions. In 2009 Alex rejoined on bass and writing/rehearsals for recording commenced upon 5 songs, with 2 in the wings.
While providing live sound engineering duties at a local club CSC happened upon a singer who attracted his interest. Chris Elio provided the piece that had been long sought after and brought a different slant to the established New Sun sound.
With this shift in direction, what had been worked up to this point required reworking to make fit the new lineup. After 3 years of hard work and several shifts in focus, Damage Done was born.
True to the New Sun belief in "less is more" and that dynamic music makes for a better listening experience, Damage Done still retains their sound while branching off in a new direction.
