ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The album 'Big Red Bridge' is a blend of American and Irish folk, roots and country music styles. When putting together the songs and arrangements the flavour of BBC's Transatlantic Sessions was a major influence. The tracks feature fiddle, accordion and flute melodies drawing from the Irish tradition as well as banjo mandolin and double bass giving much of the music an Americana feel. The Album was recorded by Ed Kenehan in Galway in the west of Ireland and Mastered in Glasgow by Iain Hutchinson , recording/mastering engineer of BBC Transatlantic sessions fame. The players involved include world famous accordion player Sharon Shannon, 'Whileaways' singer Noriana Kennedy, 'Future Trad Collective/Michael Mc Goldrick' Bodhran and Bouzoukii player Paddy Kerr and Galway based vocal trio 'The Bluebirds'. The all original material includes murder ballads, folk ballads and Americana style songs drawing influences from Galway, the west of Ireland and beyond.
