Album Notes
All in A Day is a concept album about the meaning and passing of time. It often seems too easy to speed through the moments that make up a single day. In a modern world, we routinely fill our lives with work, worry, and stress, crowding out the beauty that fills the environment in which we live. The album prompts questions about time, purpose, happiness, and love.

19-year old singer-songwriter Nich Mueller has been enjoying the sounds of his own creation and studying the world of music since he laid his hands on a piano at the age of three. Nich was born and raised in Kalamazoo, MI. He dove into the musical roots of blues, rock, and bluegrass and studied classical, pop, and jazz influences from an early age. Using a deep fascination for the power of music, Nich started writing songs that would spark the idea for his debut album.

As an artist, Nich Mueller continues to grow, having studied under or interacted with great jazz musicians and esteemed educators including Billy Hart, David Baker, Fred Hersch, Lyle Mays, Peter Eldridge, Vijay Iyer, Dr. Stephen Zegree, Duane Davis, Jennifer Shelton Barnes, Dick Hyman, Steve Erquiaga, Keith Hall, Tom Knific, Mike Jellick, and Martez Rucker. Throughout his career, Nich has been privileged enough to have performed in venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Allen Room in Jazz at Lincoln Center, Western Michigan University’s Miller Auditorium, Van Andel Arena and DeVos Performance Hall in Grand Rapids, MI, and in master classes for Fontana Chamber Arts and the Gilmore International Keyboard Festival. In 2010, Nich had the opportunity of performing with Grammy Award Winning vocalist Kurt Elling, as pianist for the Western Michigan University Jazz Orchestra. In 2011, Nich received another opportunity to perform with Kurt Elling along with other well-known artists Bob Mintzer, Ly Tartell, Roger Treece, and Mark Murphy in a performance in Jazz at Lincoln Center. The same year, he received a DownBeat Student Music Award for his debut album, All In A Day.
