IN THE POCKET REVIEWS:
~~~~~~~
JASON BIVENS
CADENCE:
"Drummer Scheuble is agile and authoritative while pianist Ayala is an impressive soloist."
"The music is very much in the style of the set's various dedicatees or honorees (sounding particularly like an early 60's Blakey recording with occasionally a wider harmonic palette)."
DAVID A. ORTHMANN
JAZZ CRITIC
ALL ABOUT JAZZ:
"Scheuble puts his drumming front and center in both unusual and conventional ways."
"(On "Shaw nuff") He plays the kind of solo you expect a lot of drummers with superior chops to be able to pull off, but rarely do."
"Despite its stylistic familiarity, the music sounds fresh and is full of surprising twists and turns."
"A welcome change from the tumult that characterizes much of today's jazz"
DAVID A.ORTHMANN
JAZZ CRITIC
ALL ABOUT JAZZ:
"Utilizing precise sticking and subtle changes in dynamics, he directed the flow of the music from the drum kit and brought out the best in other musicians without inviting unwarranted attention to his rhythms."
CADENCE:
"Drummer Scheuble is agile and authoritative."
PETER DE VOS
GRONINGER DAGBLAD
THE NETHERLANDS:
