Album Notes
Nicky Swann is a singer/songwriter who has been a regular performer on the UK acoustic circuit since April 2007.
Her contemporary acoustic roots sound draws on elements of folk, country and blues.
Her influences include Carole King, Patsy Cline, Damien Rice, Lucinda Williams and Etta James.

After splitting in 2006 with her long term covers duo guitarist Nicky searched for a replacement,
only to be disappointed by those she auditioned.
So determined to continue was she, she decided to take the role of guitarist herself and quickly expanded her three chord repertoire and was gigging again after six months.

She started to write new material and relaunched herself as a singer/songwriter.
She has achieved a growing, well respected reputation in such a short space of time,
singing from the heart and captivating audiences with her emotionally honest delivery.

“A voice with heart and passion. Acoustic raw talent, no frills, no fancies, just pure ,
enigmatic soul.” Maverick Magazine

Nicky’s achievements so far include, winning Artsbase 2008 singer/songwriter award,
performing for BBC Radio accompanied by folk singer and fiddle player
Jackie Oates. Supporting Megson, Angie Palmer, Corrine West and Roy Bailey.
Recording a live show, engineered and produced by Phil Beer (Show of Hands)accompanied by cellist Bethany Porter.
Performing a number of festivals including Chagstock, Lowender, Dartmouth Music
Festival and Swanage Folk Festival.
Recording the “Burning Bright” E.P. at the Sawmills studio in Fowey, Cornwall and is
currently recording her debut album (engineered and produced by Phil Beer).

Looking ahead Nicky will be launching her own website, finishing her new album 'Matches and Dispatches' and
touring nationally to promote it.
