Album Notes
About the Music: Nicole-Marie is a singer/songwriter who writes, performs and produces her own music which has been compared to the likes of Jewel, Alanis Morrisette and Sarah McLachlan. She calls her style "folk rock" but likes to collaborate with musicians and performers from other genres, most notably "hip hop" on her first album "Storybook", to create new and fresh sounds. Like Jewel, she is not afraid to experiment with different vocal styles and like Alanis, she does not believe in over-producing songs and has chosen to use scratch vocals on most of her tracks on Storybook. Her live shows and her ability to sing ballads while finger-picking an acoustic guitar are her greatest strengths. She likes invoking emotion in her audience to create a connection. She usually does live shows in the Tacoma and Seattle areas.
