Album Notes
For Your Consideration 60th Grammy Awards 2018: Best Folk Album, Best American Roots Performance & Best American Roots Song for title track, “Wild Horse Running Free”, Producer of the Year non-classical, Best Engineered Album non-classical, Best Recording Package, Best Album Notes.

“Wild Horse Running Free” is a powerful and urgent album of original songs by singer-songwriter-guitarist Nicolette Aubourg addressing socio-political issues including Apartheid, suicide prevention, the global apathy to the Ebola epidemic, the Bush administration’s inadequate response to the victims of Hurricane Katrina, the humanitarian crisis in Darfur, the suffering of animals in captivity, and the destruction of local cultures and economies due to job outsourcing and overseas manufacturers. Also included is a tribute to Nelson Mandela called “Madiba, dedication to Nelson Mandela”. The genre is musical activism featuring female vocals with richly layered harmonies, acoustic and electric guitars, bass, piano/keyboards, drums and percussion. To fully appreciate this album, it is recommended that the listener acquire the physical CD, which incorporates original artwork and lyrics with detailed information pertaining to each track’s subject matter. Musicians include Jorgen Carlsson, John J.T. Thomas, Toshi Yanagi, T-Bone Andersson, and Nicolette Aubourg. Produced by Jorgen Carlsson (Gov’t Mule, POA) and Nicolette Aubourg.
