The CrossRoads Project would like to thank all the generous and talented musicians involved in the recording of Strange Brew EP and Manny Sanchez for opening the doors of his studio to the band!

Liner notes:

The Strange Brew is the first electric album from a traditionally acoustic band. With this new EP The CrossRoads Project communicates the idea of a live performance by taking what they hope their listeners feel at the live concerts and lacing that vitality into the tracks.

The original CrossRoads Project was formed on the stomping grounds of DePaul University’s School of Music in 2009. The group consisted of Nino Arobelidze on rhythm guitar, percussion and lead vocals; her flamenco-playing collaborator, Jim Collinsworth, on lead guitar and percussion and Michael Meyer on drums and percussion. The trio soon became a quartet when Joe Marcus sat in with his upright bass during rehearsals for the Jigsaw album in the spring of 2009, enriching the group's jazz-infused, indie sound.

This new body of work was made possible with the musical contributions of Nino Arobelidze on lead vocals, acoustic guitar, keyboards and percussion; Joe Marcus on electric bass, acoustic guitar and keyboards; Brett Swenson on drums; Brad Miller on electric guitar; Chris Misa on Hammond B3 organ; Shane Hendrickson on keyboards and a horn section made up of Corbin Andrick on saxophones, Steve Hollander on trombone and Caleb Mitchell on trumpet. The album was recorded, mixed and mastered by Shane Hendrickson in the beautiful I.V.Lab Studios in Chicago and produced by Nino, Shane and Joe.

The CrossRoads Project has recorded two albums prior to Strange Brew: Jigsaw in 2009 and Passages in 2010.

STRANGE BREW EP

1. MELT
2. WHISKEY AND CIGARETTES
3. STRANGE BREW
4. AT THE CROSSROADS

1. MELT

so here i am standing
scared half to death
afraid u don't get it
that u don't understand

that I may be,
ooh, crazy for u
that i , may be young
and foolish like u

far off in the distance
I hear the answer's clear as the day
so how come, how come u don't get it…
baby, u may be my only one

so, i'm still standing here
afraid to make my move
so instead, i'm watching u
wondering
if u are wondering too...

far off in the distance
I hear the answer's clear as the day
so how come, how come u don't get it…
baby, u may be
my only one

2. WHISKEY AND CIGARETTES

if you could only see me
the way that u're able
with no cards under ur table

if u could only see me
with no rules to rule u
no lies to feed me no tales to write
to get u on the inside

if u say u love me but spell it with a "u"
could it mean that u do love me
but not the same way that i do

this new awakening is liberating
as i see us
but we are breaking in two

i won't' tame u, clame u
keep u and restrain u
baby, baby don't u know that much...
u, with ur friends
coffee and cigarettes
whiskey and wine

if u could only see me
with no rules to rule u
no secrets 2
just me and u

if u say u love me
but spell it w a "u"
could it mean that u do love me
but not the same way that i do

this new awakening is liberating
as i see us
but we are breaking in two

i won't tame u, clame u
keep u and restrain u
baby, baby don't u know that much...

u with ur friends
coffee and cigarettes
whiskey and wine...
(solo)
i won't' tame u, clame u,
keep u and restrain u
baby, baby don't u know that much..

u with ur friends
coffee and cigarettes
whiskey and wine

if u could only see me
with no rules to rule u
no secrets 2
just me and u

3. STRANGE BREW

i love loving u
i love loving you, yes i do (x2)

and i don't want to control this,
so i don't despair
or pretend not to notice that
you compare us
u take this strange brew that
you call life
and u laugh at this madness
as it
connects us

i love loving u-
more than the morning loves the light
i loving u
into the night

i love loving u
with ur disconnection melting
as u burn every bridge
u cross

and i don't want to regress to what i've known
'cause what i'm learning
is a blessing in distress
i love loving u
in every one of ur variations
i love the liquid of ur
soul

i love loving u
i loving u, yes i do (x2)

and i don't want to control this
or pretend not 2 notice that u compare us
u take this strange brew that u call life
and u laugh at its madness
as it connects us

i love loving u more than the morning
loves the light
i love loving u into the night

i love loving u with
ur disconnection melting
i love the liquid of ur soul

and i don't want to regress to what i'd known
cause what i'm learning is a blessing in distress
i love loving u in every one of ur variations
as u burn every bridge u cross

i love loving u,
i love loving u, yes i do (x2)

4. AT THE CROSSROADS

I felt like i was drowning
in the river of my own doubts
but then i asked to be guided
and to come into my own

and i said,
please help me find me,
feel like an outlaw in my own skin
and i said,
please help me ground me,
into my own
so i can breathe

u say, i'm too young to get u,
but u're a real puzzle to get
drifting in and out of the focus
and i notice a picture of what is
left

(CHORUS)
'cause it's u and me (yeah)
it's u and me
it's us together
and we're at the crossroads (x2)

(vocal solo)

u ask, why it is that i trust ur remarks,
i want to be how u are
want to write and play some music
and to share
my love

(CHORUS)
cause it's u and me yeah,
it's u and me
it's us together
and we're at the crossroads (x2)

( solo)

I know, i gotta let it all go
if i ever want to find my way
to be what it is that i want to be
and to say what i want to say

(CHORUS)
cause it's u and me yeah,
it's u and me
it's us together
and we're at the crossroads (X4 and fade out)
