ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Ballad of the Bowling Green Massacre depicts an even that never happened. The "event" has been used by certain people in our government to foment fear and hate. Political satire is hard to achieve anymore because it all just seems like satire now. This small song is Political Satire, and it's one way we can fight the lies and hate coming from our government. It's only 99 cents, but this is a good example how, when enough people come together, we make a difference. I'll donate 20% of my sales of this song to the ACLU and other like-minded organizations.

I didn't set out to be a political voice or hero. I wrote this song in about a half an hour and decided to throw a live version of it up on Facebook to see what would happen. Usually my posts get a few "likes" and my videos and live posts have been known to get a couple of hundred views. As of this writing, my post of this song has over 2300 "likes" (that's only on my page), about 3200 shares, and almost 104,000 views. Possibly, it has struck a nerve.

We rushed into the studio to get a good clean track. As is the style of the song, we've emulated the folk groups of the late 1950s/early '60s. My brother, David Budin, is the producer on the track, and plays two guitar parts and the bass part.

By purchasing this single, you can help make a statement, and support organizations that are fighting the good fight.

There will be an entire album of all political satire songs written in the styles of the mid-twentieth century folk movement forthcoming. Find my website, friend me on Facebook. Together, we can make a difference.
