Primordial

by No Longer Music

Somebody said this album is Radiohead meeting Massive Attack, but it is way more. Think about how your girlfriend left you, it is raining and you are sitting in a nearly empty room with a naked bulb hanging from the ceiling, smoking your last cigarette.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
No Longer Music, both mystery and living legend, unique and category-defying. With mediocre musical abilities, David Pierce founded in the mid-80`s the punk band No Longer Music on a houseboat in Amsterdam. Despite continual line-up changes and moving the band to New Zealand, the band continued to evolve. Starting as a normal band, they began to introduce more show elements which has developed into a show that is best described with the word "rock theater," even though it doesn't do justice to what they do.

What the listener of "Primordial" will experience is a journey into a desperate soul, screaming for truth, life, and god. It leads you through an abyss, describing someones escape out of the rat cage, slowly recognizing that the world is not all that it seems and seeking a way out.

NLM used parts of old lyrics and put them in a new musical environment, giving them a new meaning. The listener will get a picture of life in its existential pain with the revelation of a way out. The melancholy, depressing atmosphere is strengthened through a balanced mixture of samples, programmed beats, industrial guitar sounds and vocals that go from sad to aggressive.

The music continues without compromise, angry, disrupted, broken by the world, helpless, yielding to despair.
