ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Since its beginning, “Nonsense” Ensamble Vocal de Solistas has been all about studying and performing of the works by composers of the 20th century, among other creators of our time. It is in this space where the chance comes up for composers and performers, that is, live writing and the voice that is present, to join creatively.

Among the multifaceted members, that include singers who are also composers, conductors and instrumentists, this group sets up a collective, self-managed work space whose field of expression spreads beyond the vocal aspect. It aims to the commitment between new creations and their staging.

In this work, “Nonsense” Ensamble Vocal de Solistas covers offers two contemporary classic works and the first recording of Juan Carlos Tolosa's “Gente que canta de espaldas”. These three compositions share a common feature: the relationship between cultures and its authors' particular visions about tradition and the present.
