Album Notes
Only 3 years in the making!

I read somewhere the other day that a musician would need to get 4M Spotify plays a month to get minimum wage! So let’s be very clear this is not a profitable enterprise but a labor of love! I think the total online earnings of The Long Wait last I checked was $27! I won’t tell you how many hours it took to write and record!

As per usual there were a million ideas and at least another albums worth of fully written songs but these ones somehow just seemed to need to be together. Those not included were a lot more pop. One of the things I really wanted to achieve with this album was for it to fit together as a cohesive whole rather than just a bunch of random songs. The first half was pretty much written in the UK in 2011 and the second half written in Sydney 2012. And then for the last 2 years once you have the basic verse/chorus nailed its about figuring out the structure, the instrumentation and of course the mix! Just to keep things interesting there are some pretty non-traditional song structures buried away on here if you listen closely! Getting a professional-ish sounding mix is hard work and one thing you can never achieve is to get the recordings to be as loud as commercial releases. So please when you listen crank up the volume. It really does sound better that way!
I’m going to continue to write/record music but I’m not sure at this stage if I’ll do another album. It just takes so much time! Maybe EP’s are the way forward...

Ok enough for now, thanks for listening!
