ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Nox got into rapping a few years back, starting off freestyling while getting shitfaced at his friend's house. But what started out as a hobby turned into a passion, and now he's going balls to the wall, putting out his first major project, collaborating with some of the best talent on Long Island, and always searching for ways to improve.

He mostly listens to 90's classics and contemporary underground hip hop, since trap and mumble rap usually make him throw up in his mouth a little bit. Believe me, he gets it--some people like that shit. But he definitely does not. After all, the thing that got him into rap in the first place was the wordplay and clever lyricism.

Tech N9ne was actually the first rapper that Nox really got into. The weird, dark imagery and impressive technicality won him over. And it wasn't long before he branched out into listening to the true masters of the craft--Aesop Rock, Hieroglyphics, Big Pun, Eminem, Eyedea, Atmosphere, Ces Cru, MF Doom. The list goes on. While all of them are very different, Nox appreciates the variety. It's the spice of life, ain't it?

During live performances, Nox likes to do a freestyle-by-request segment, rapping off the top of his head about topics the audience gives him. Nothing's too weird. Nothing's too taboo. It's all about the fun of making some music together. As he says, "I can't promise it'll be good, but I promise I'll try."

Come by one of his shows and see for yourself.
