About Numic
BIO (brief) Throughout the history of metal and Rock music, chance encounters have calibrated the way one listens to music and defined the chemistry of artists working together to form their sonic sculptures of which we are accustomed to hearing in their own existence. Numic, a blend of sophisticated and calculating musicians, has transpired upon the scene with great intensity and chemistry. With the spirit of the rockers whom have inspired them, they transcend the music to the next level. John McKinney- drums, Dennis Michael D- guitars Matt Healy-Bass and Stephen Thomas- vocals, have produced a cornucopia of unique familiarity with melody; aggression, passion and focus...listen...

BIO (extended) Stephen, Dennis, Matt and John (via Iowa) all come from Northern California. They play heavy rock music that retains what most music lacks these days, which is soul and musicianship. With arrangements that reflect Tool, aggression that is reminiscent of Pantera and emotion that resembles A Perfect Circle, the music blends dynamics, emotion and melody with hooks that leave you singing it all day. Their ideas for future releases, performing concerts and long-term goals, requires picking industry professionals that are ready to help promote them to the highest level possible.

The band has taken on every aspect of their career all on their own. Including:

1. Designing their own website

2. Purchasing and securing /.org / and .net

3. All artwork for flyers and promotional supplies

4. Booking shows

5. Making videos

6. Managing stage shows

7. Creating hot selling merchandise IE hats, shirts, etc.

8. Web based promotions

9. The members of Numic even built their own pro-grade recording studio in the heart of the Napa Valley to record their own albums. It was there in early 2005 they recorded "Recrudescent Feed". The album was produced, mixed, engineered and paid for duplication by band members. It went on to become a critically acclaimed success. With a few outstanding press reviews and tons of great buyer/listener reviews, the record continues to sell like hotcakes. Even with almost no radio play other than a few late Sunday nights on KSJO (before the stations Demise in late 2004) and on KRXQ 98.5 Local Licks in Sacramento, the album seems to have taken on a life of it's own with word of mouth. Purchased by way of "Myspace" and "Cdbaby" or out of the back seats of cars.

The sound of Numic has been heard/seen/felt mostly in Northern California in places such as Slims-SF, The Boardwalk-Sac, California State Fair, Phoenix Theatre-Petaluma and The Whiskey A go go- Hollywood. With every show their audience is growing larger and more inspired. But in the beginning to give a sort of "kick start", Numic purchased and restored a 1965 GM Greyhound bus. Converted into a tour bus, the vehicle was used to shuttle an average of 20-30 fans to out of town shows.

In August of 2005, Numic's song "Thrown Away" was featured on " Sacramento Rocks vol 12" A compilation cd featuring the best bands of Sacramento and benefiting the Mustard Seed School for homeless children.

"in the seven years or so I've been doing this local thing, I've never been so amazed by a local band like I am with this band right here! And you're about to hear em...Numic!" -Mark Gilmore DJ KRXQ 98.5 Local Licks Show

lovin\' it
i heard about \'em on myspace... and searched far and wide for the damned cd til i realized that not a single store would carry it... unless of corse Tower Records was still open... so i do what i NEVER do and ordered it off the net cuz that\'s how bad i wanted it...
and i i do NOT regret buying it... it\'s an awesome cd and \"my enemy\" is probably one of my favorite songs...
i cant tell ya how many ppl i\'ve mentioned this band to and told \'em to check \'em out on myspace.
including people in a yahoo chatroom lol
anyway... thanks for the great music

I accidentally stumbled onto this band on the radio, and was totally caught off guard. Incredible musicianship. Numic's album really shows what it means to play as a band- not just catchy, independent licks forced to fit a skeleton, but instrumentation that elaborately intertwines with itself! I also found it very refreshing to hear intelligent, clean, and moving guitar solos. Rich rythm, with great use of time changes, really keeps you on your toes. Absolutely infectious and melodious vocals that weren't forced to fit any mold give way to mature and meaningful lyrics. I'm already sold on the next album!

Your band is really great!
your band is really great I thought that your
drumming was especially interesting. it had lots of different beats all
meshed into one song. i think that this is a very good part about being
drummer. in most of the other rock bands i have listened to, they only
have one single beat in each song, but you definately try to make it
sound more unique which is what bands todays are missing. thanks for
creating such an awesome CD. i really enjoyed it!

just a few short notes, and I was hooked!
How was I to know that what started off as someone telling me about NUMIC would open my eyes to such an amazing band. I bought the CD, thinking, "What's there to loose?" When I got off from work that night, I opened it up, put it in my CD player, and in just a few short notes, I was hooked! I had not heard anything that wonderful in a long time-even from most bands that are signed. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. How could a band so phenomenal not be signed? Recrudescent Feed is such an amazing CD. I thank the person VERY much that told me about them, and now, I'm a HUGE fan! These four men are so musically talented that they deserve all of the recognition they can get! If you haven't heard the CD....I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!

Good; familar, but creative music and vocals.
I enjoyed this a lot.I even sent it forward to friends overseas.I am writing to record heavier music than I previously released myself. So this was indeed great timing as I am into this music at this time.It was well written and performed.Vocals and muscianship were great.

Lizzys Rockin' Reviews

This might possibly be my most favorite CD that I have reviewed
The first thing that struck me when I received this CD was the clear consideration given to the packaging, which oddly enough doesn't get the attention that I think it deserves. Most bands consider what goes onto the disc and don't seem to put much thought into the aesthetics… This 4 piece has.

My Enemy opens up with a note-bending guitar intro then gets heavy. John is flying on drums, the running double bass & ridiculously tight cymbal work absolutely floored me. Suddenly the whole thing breaks down & the vocals come in lending themselves to possibly Maynard or Chevelle. Needless to say this is an excellent way to kick off this CD.

I'm not even going to try and guess what time signature I Lamb is in, if they can pull this song off live, they are easily some of the most talented musicians that I have run into in a long time.

Afterlife shows off their melody writing talent. After hitting you with a couple really hard songs they drop in a beautiful, slightly haunting piece of music. Dennis Michael D. even gives an incredibly talented throwback to the classic guitar solo, which you hardly ever hear in today's music.

I think the main thing that I really like about Numic's music is it's super powerful, but has this killer groove that runs through the whole disc, which you don't hear much in music this hard.

This might possibly be my most favorite CD that I have reviewed.

I could go on and on about every single song on this CD, but for the sake of keeping this review at a somewhat reasonable length, I will just say everyone should have a copy of this album.

not your garden variety cookie cutter hardcore rock
“Your music is intense! Great guitar work and drumming. It's not your garden variety cookie cutter hardcore rock either as it has lots of changes. I've added your song "My Enemy" to
Artistlaunch Station Radio Free Rock”
