Odette Díaz, a Puerto Rican singer-songwriter, felt an affinity for music from an early age. As a child she learned to dance imitating steps she saw in music videos until she created her own choreographies.
When she was a child, she participated in parish choirs in her school, but it was not until her young adult years that she discovered her ability to sing.
She started law school at “Pontificia Universidad Catolica”de P.R. The first year, she was invited to participate in an annual event of this faculty called: "The Night of the Arts" at “La Perla Theater in Ponce P.R.
She decides to participate although, she never sang with a band before. After the success of her presentation at the theater, she was invited to sing in various events of the University.
It was not until then, when she discovered her ability to sing and her curiosity to discover more woke up.
She wrote between her legal books, verses, poems, rhymes, without understanding her objective well.

After graduated from law school, she looked for a middle ground between her new passion and law.
She researched on a branch of law called "Entertainment Law." Discovered one of the best universities with such specialization at UCLA University, in Los Angeles, California.
She registered in UCLA, and studied courses in Copyright law and“Music business”.
Los Angeles, a city known for its great variety of opportunities for music & entertainment, was where Odette joined for the first time different bands, first as a chorister, and eventually as a lead singer.
She had the opportunity to meet different excellent musical composers who invited her to collaborate in their songwriting process allowing her to discovers her ability not only to sing but also to write songs.
After validating this ability, she composed and produced several songs and decided to form her own band of Latin women called: “Dollce Fm ”.
This band gave her the opportunity to perform in various stages, festivals and clubs in Los Angeles such as: Conga Room, Viper Room, Green Door, among others, creating a great following for its originality and stage presence.
To complement and further master her compositions, Odette felt the need to learn to play her favorite instrument: “The guitar”.
She returned to Puerto Rico, and decided to learn independently the instrument taking private lessons with excellent guitarists from the island.
It was then when she felt ready to compose a great diversity of songs with the guitar in order to make a record in the future.

Now, as a singer-songwriter based in P.R, she undertakes her New Musical Project in the Latin Pop Rock genre, with a personalized sound for each theme. You will listen to a range of great sound fusions, from percussive instruments, electric guitars with colors between Rock, Latin & Blues, organic drums combined with some soft electronic backgrounds.

With a warm, emotional wide ranged voice, combined with a particular unique sound, this“Canta Autora” intends to take the listeners, to a different and memorable experience.
