Album Notes
Offerings to Odin is a duo of producer Stephen Bailey and producer/vocalist Joel Walker. Together their music is intended to be a catalyst for personal change, self challenge and growth, and an outlet for frustrations with the state of the world in the 21st century.
Walker's lyrics draw influence from Norse mythology to exposit a world-view based on self-actualization, coexistence with the natural world, and a strong sense of, anti-establishment individuality.
The duo's musical influence draws from early industrial acts such as Skinny Puppy, and more recent artists such as Psyclon Nine, and Alien Vampires. Their music is also deeply rooted in the creative approaches to sound design found in experimental electronic artists such as Aphyx Twin, Kid 606, and Venetian Snares and the arranging and aggressive aesthetic of dubstep.
Walker and Bailey together embrace the technical experimentation that recent advances in music technology have made possible, while still retaining an organic sense of texture, depth and form.
