Blissfully relaxing
Add me to the list of people who had been begging Oli to release a CD of his gorgeous music! If you are a fan of ambient music soundscapes, film soundtracks, or groups like Penguin Cafe Orchestra from the UK or Kila from Ireland, you will be glad you listened.

Just Amazing
Just like Oli's live performances this CD keeps you entertained and hooked until the last note is played, it cant help but hold your interest as well as relaxing you at the same time.
Sound Bites is an all rounder, play it whilst having dinner with friends, whilst you're in the bath relaxing, trying to sleep or wanting some escape from the madness of the day!
Heartfelt touching work, I look forward to another release.

I Love CD Baby for featuring artists like this.
Beauty is so incredibly rare in the world of music. And to see that someone can transition so effortlessly from classical to pop is truly amazing. These songs are pure and honest, serene yet compelling. I cant turn off my music player!!!!! Cheers to Oliver. This is a present for my eardrums.

Tom McRae

Curly haired genius finally does what's he's talked about for years
Oli Kraus is the Hendrix of the cello. His imagination and talent has finally found the outlet that playing with all those dodgy singer-songwriters has stymied for so long. This album of imaginative soundscapes invites you to journey into the mind of one of the greatest musicians of our time. And I'm not joking. And his hair's cool too.

Tamara Turner, CD Baby

It's not at all hard to immediately hear and understand why Oliver Kraus makes a great film composer. Instantly evocative, spacious and open, his reverberating piano and cello landscapes work magic on the brain and ear, opening up liquidy worlds of blueish-green hues dripping with a tangible feeling of calm and equilibrium. At times, reminiscent of Arvo Part and Abel Korzeniowski, his exploration of silence and space is notable, creating an empty structure in which both sound and silence intermingle and converse. This approach gives "Sound Bites" unique access to the workings of the human heart and all its complexities.

Is this where the heart goes to heal?....
If ever there was an album that journeyed through the shards of a broken heart, this is it.
Ultimately Oli reminds each of us that behind every unfinished conversation, someone...somewhere is dancing on the stings of a cello.

These exquisitely crafted pieces for cello, piano and kalimba transport you to situations and emotions far outside yourself. I never knew a cello could sing in so many different voices! "Simon and Fabbiola" is the most moving lovestory I've ever heard- without words. Bon appetit!

This is one of the most amazing artists I have heard in the last several years. He is definitely worth a minute of your time. I first encountered Mr. Kraus on tour with David Gray in Western Europe and was immediately enthralled. His skill at melding pop culture with classical cello is unparalleled. I can't wait for his next compilation. My only regret is that his solo effort 'Sound Bites' will be forgotten amoungst Sia's new found success. Best of luck to Olli from his most dedicated fan!!!
