absolutely beautiful....
Beautiful music. Beautiful voice. Beatiful lyrics. Beautiful person. Carlos will always be my favorite singer/songwriter, and I am honored to have been graced with the beauty that is his music.

Album Spotlight: Carlos Olmeda, Sensitive Groove
Carlos Olmeda, "Sensitive Groove" (Bella Nova): Unlike the golden-girl singer cruising through the title track of his new album, Carlos Olmeda may not kill you with his sensitive groove, but his sharp folk-rock tunes are guaranteed to pierce you where it hurts.

Impeccably produced by Gregory Page (with Sven Erik Seaholm and Allan Phillips doing the honors on two tracks), the latest sung so sweetly and played so skillfully, you may not notice your wounds until you've lost a few pints. And by then, you'll be too woozy to care.

Beginning with the hushed paranoia of "A Girl Downstairs" and winding through the antsy musings of "A Devil Like Me" and the snarky title track, "Sensitive Groove" is full of pretty music with a pungent bite...His blend of folk simplicity and pop ambition give his songs both a bright surface and an arresting depth.

...thanks to a top-notch supporting cast that includes guitarist Scott Ireland, bassist Augie Alexander, drummers Jeff Forrest and Scott Lee and percussionist-singer Noel "Toca" Rivera, you will never notice the fault lines in this otherwise beguiling musical landscape.

Great cd of a local san diego artist
This cd is a great sound, and a great artist. Carlos has amazing playing ability and his voice matches the mood perfectly. Very catchy and solid, this cd is awesome. I had heard nothing but good things about the cd for the two years prior to me purchasing it, and now that I have it I'm very happy with it. Highly recommended!
