ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Never Give Up is a song about inspiration and hope. Because some times things are wonderful, and sometimes things are bad, but even if it drags us down, we keep moving forward. When life knocks you down, get back up and keep on trying.

Anything is possible if we believe we can do it.

From California's central coastal areas OMANI brings deeply hypnotic grooves with satisfying positive reggae vibes. Expect anything from inspirational roots, to lover’s rock, mixed with conscious thought provoking anthems, and sprinkled with a healthy dose of dub.

The message is a Positivity. Featuring songs that make you think, make you wanna move, and make you feel good.

Since 2007, Omani has been developing and delivering a sincere sound with uplifting reggae music at clubs, festivals, and private events, performing refreshing original songs, as well as spontaneous improvisational dub jams.

Omani has shared the stage with many renown artists such as Don Carlos, Katchafire, The Itals, Romain Virgo, Edi Fitzroy, Prince Alla, Perfect Giddimani, Lutan Fyah, Ikronik, and has also performed at events like Monterey Bay Reggae Festival with artists like Kymani Marley, Israel Vibration, Big Mountain, Prezident Brown, and many more.

What does "OMANI" mean?

"OMANI" comes from the first three seed syllable sounds of the compassion mantra:
Om Mani Padme Hum

These syllable sounds are pleasant to speak and compliment the music and the message.

Speaking the syllable sounds is said to guide one on the path to enlightenment.
OM: purifies the neurotic attachment to bliss and pride.
MA: helps perfect the practice of pure ethics.
NI: helps achieve perfection in the practice of tolerance and patience.

The word Om (Aum) derives from the Sanskrit language, and is a foundational sound of most meditation mantras.
It symbolizes unfolding or expansion, and is the signifier of the ultimate truth that all is one.

The term “bija” is used for mystical seed syllables contained within meditation mantras.
These sounds do not have precise meanings, but are thought to carry connections to spiritual principles.

This is why there is no exact meaning to "Omani". Perhaps it simply means "POSITIVITY".

The meaning of Omani may be less relevant than what it serves to represent:

The listener can decide what Omani means, if it has to mean anything at all.

What's in a name? Not sure, but the message is in the music ....
